| Bob Urosevic
Coach Bob Urosevic has coached with KW Lightning for the past five years. His Midget Girls team was Division 1 Provincial Champion in 2006 and National Silver Medallists. In 2005, Coach Urosevic's Major Bantam Girls team won silver medals in Division 1 as did his 2004 Bantam Girls team. Coach Urosevic coached the Tri-County BDP team for Basketball Ontario from 2001 to 2003. His team won gold medals at the 2002 Ontario Summer Games. Since 2003, Coach Urosevic has coached the Tri-County MDP team, which won silver medals in 2004 and gold in 2006.
Coach Urosevic was an assistant coach of the University of Guelph men's team in 1986-87 and assistant coach of KW Vipers Juvenile Boys team in 2002-03.
Coach Urosevic has been involved in the game of basketball as a player and coach for 33 years. A life long resident of Kitchener-Waterloo, Coach Urosevic played at KCI in the late '70's. In 1980, his team was WCSSA and CWOSSA champions and finished fifth at OFSSA. Coach Urosevic was chosed MVP of WCSSA in 1979 and was selected to the 3rd team All-Canadian High School all-star team in 1980. He went on to play at the University of Waterloo from 1980 to 1983, where his team was national silver medallists in 1983, and at Wilfrid Laurier University from 1984 to 1986.
Cal Keil
Coach Cal Keil has his level 2 NCCP certification and began with the KW Lightning organization in 2000. His teams have won medals at the OBA championships in different levels including a silver medal in Division 1. In addition, Coach Keil has coached a boys' team for the past 8 years including 3 years with the Elite development program for Basketball Ontario where they won a bronze medal at Ontario Summer Games in 2008.
Cal played high school basketball at John F. Ross in Guelph where his team won the school’s first junior boys CWOSSA championship. He also played on the Central West regional team and Ontario provincial team in the late 70’s with Jay Triano. Cal played varsity basketball at the University of Calgary and University of Waterloo where his teams played in 3 CIAU national championship tournaments. In Waterloo he played with his good friend, Bob Urosevic who he has coached with for the past 3 years.
Kerri Jilesen
Kerri played high school at Midland Secondary School and played on OBA teams in Midland and Orillia. She participated in the Nike All Canada Camp and was on the Ontario provincial team. Kerri attended and played at Wilfrid Laurier University. After graduation, she played Division 1 basketball in Germany, Holland and Switzerland. This past summer Kerri played on the semi pro Toronto Stealth team that played in the American Blue Chips league.
Kerri is now back in KW and coached the Sr. Girls basketball team at Forest Heights this fall. This is her first year coaching for KW Lightning and she is hoping to teach locally.
Deanna Hollinger
Deanna started playing basketball when she was five years old. She always had a great passion for the sport. She grew up in Waterloo and played for a very successful club program. They won the Division One Provincial Championship in 2002. She attended Bluevale Collegiate where she played basketball and many other sports.
Deanna attended McMaster University from 2003-2008 where she played varsity basketball for five years. She was co-captain in her third, fourth, and fifth years. In Deanna’s third year (2006) and fifth year (2008) the team won the OUA Championships. In her fifth and final year (2008) her team won the bronze medal at the National Championships in Saskatchewan.
Deanna is NCCP 1 Level qualified and has coached 3 summers at the McMaster Basketball Sports camps. She has helped coach the girls' grade 7/8 basketball team at Floradale Public School this past winter (2009) and this is her first year with KW Lightning.
Currently, Deanna is an occasional teacher for the Waterloo Public Elementary School Board. She loves teaching and coaching children and helping them to reach their goals.
